25 Weeks

New "Pregnancy" Developments: Kip will play "cars" with baby girl - driving them on my belly :0) He now says "Baby Sis." I've been sick with a cough, now adding a cold. Cough is concerning as I have a high-pitched squeal in between coughing spells when gasping for a breath. Baby belly getting bigger - yikes! Also moving lower? A LOT more movement - kicks, twitches and rolls. Love it. Can't keep my hands off of her. There's something about feeling a child within you that makes you feel so ALIVE. God has blessed Justin and I with a special gift and experience. Weight minus 9 lbs (uh oh, so it begins...).

New "Baby" Developments: Baby is 13.5 inches and approximately 1.5 pounds! If we could see inside, we would be able to tell if she had hair... and, if so, what color and texture. My guess is brunette, but I won't be surprised if we get another red-head :0)  Em is excited to become her full-time stylist. Also, her oh-so-handy sense of equilibrium is kicking in, and she's learning to distinguish right side up from down.

Cravings/Aversions: Carmel apples with chopped nuts, apples, homemade caramels, cheese fries, nachos, breadsticks, chocolate covered acai/blueberries from Costco, ice water with extra ice, Decaf Iced Coffee with Pumpkin Swirl and cream from Dunkin' Donuts / meat, sour flavors, feeling full, my cold/cough

Thoughts: "I made it through DEAM11 and it was a success!! The number of compliments and 'pats on the back' make everything worth it."  "To get flu shot or not?"  "Is it REALLY a girl?" (Struggling with this b/c it is so foreign to me)

'Random'ness: I need a vacation. Good thing it's on the calendar! And, I think we're going to pay to get a 3D sneak peak of her face while we are there :0)

To Do List: Switch the little ones' closets (Kip will be moving to his big boy room soon). Order his big boy furniture. Paint both of their rooms.

Things I can check off To Do List: Order and pick up twin mattress for top bunk. We already own the full mattress. Yay! Pick out baby girl bedding.. at a rock-bottom price. Check!

24-Week Appointment: Blood pressure 116/68. Baby girl's heartbeat 140 (I think she was sleeping). OB prescribed Z-Pak for my whooping cough/bronchitis. Glucose screening is coming up at 28-week appointment... boo!

24 Weeks

New "Pregnancy" Developments: Baby girl is still very active from 8pm to 11pm and then again from 5am to 9am. One day this week at 5am, I woke up Justin so he could feel her move... she must have been arm wrestling her placenta! He loved it. Belly button is beginning to go flat. Weight minus 10 lbs.

New "Baby" Developments: Baby is 12 inches! Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world.

Cravings/Aversions: Carmel apples with chopped nuts, apples, cereal, Hershey's Bars, homemade caramels, cheese fries, nachos, breadsticks, chocolate covered blueberries, ice water with extra ice, Decaf Iced Mocha / food smells, meat, sour flavors, feeling full, heavy foods

Thoughts: "How is the stress of DEAM11 (the event I've been planning) going to have on our baby girl?"
'Random'ness: Still no official name, but I have my favorites :0)

Kip's iPhone (aka iPod Touch)

He knows how to slide to unlock, open up apps, play games, and exit to main screen.
Ridiculous.
His favorites as of right now: I Hear Ewe, Talking Tom, Baby Piano, ZooBox, and Talking Rex.

Too Cute Tuesday

23 Weeks

New "Pregnancy" Developments: Going through another "sleepy" phase this week. I've fallen asleep on the leather recliner six of the last seven nights. Baby girl is very active between 8pm and 11pm. Weight minus 11 lbs.
New "Baby" Developments: Baby is 11 inches and a little over a pound! Big enough to see her squirm underneath my clothes. Baby girl has a well-developed sense of movement now and she can feel me dancing with Kip! Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing.

Cravings/Aversions: Carmel apples with chopped nuts, apples, cereal, Hershey's Bars, homemade caramels, cheese fries, nachos, breadsticks, chocolate covered blueberries, ice water with extra ice, Decaf Iced Mocha / food smells, meat, sour flavors, feeling full, heavy foods
Thoughts: "Need to get the roof fixed, big boy furniture purchased and tv mounted." I've been saying this for months! Agh. List IKEA bedroom set on craigslist... check!

'Random'ness: JD and I still haven't sat down to discuss names! We are SO busy!

22 Weeks

New "Pregnancy" Developments:  Lots of movement. Thankfully, I can feel her down low and on my sides... hope it stays that way!! Feeling kicks and rolls. I love taking time to stop and just be thankful for the opportunity to carry a child, her health, and the awe of it all. I get more excited every day to meet her! Weight minus 11 lbs.

New "Baby" Developments: Baby is 11 inches (length of spaghetti squash) and weighing in at 1lb!  Tiny tooth buds hide beneath her gums. Her eyes are fully formed, but the irises still lack pigment. Lanugo (fine hair) has now begun growing on her body to keep her warm until the lbs show up!

Cravings/Aversions: Chocolate, chocolate covered blueberries, ice water with extra ice, cheese fries, Decaf Iced White Mocha / food smells, meat, sour flavors, feeling full, heavy foods

Thoughts: What will it be like trying to breastfeed a baby with a Momma's boy at your feet? Hmm...

'Random'ness: I don't typically eat at Subway, but I find myself craving a Spicy Italian - probably because I can't have one! Boo listeria!!
